Granollers!

Hey!

Sorry, it´s been a while, I´ve been really busy! Had a great time in madrid, settled in after a few days and had loads of fun. Learnt lots of spanish as well, and met some great people. Also, I´m 22 now, which makes me old and responsible. Kinda sad to leave madrid, as it was a really great city to live in, but now here I am in Catalonia.

Granollers is a pretty nice town, lots of shops in a pedestrianised centre. The ...

Maledetti catalani

We figured our the metro!!!

... lasagna, chicken empanadas and helado (ice cream). Christine had melon con jamon (melon with ham), empanadas and fresh fruit for dessert. It was nice eating with people that were familiar with the area. Next, we headed to what we thought was the Sagrada Familia. Unfortunately, it turned out to be the Cathedral de Catalunya- an active Church. In other words, you had to be properly dressed to ...

Te Amo Barcelona!!!

... national palace): just walked by, very impressive. Castillo de Montjuic (castle): You reached this castle up on the hill via a funicular first and then a two part gondola/cable car ride. The views from up there over the entire city and harbor were breath taking. I was lucky in that the museum and entrance happened to be free that day. The famous large and old bull fighting ring/stadium. I spent a lot of time just wandering the small streets and having a lot of fun ...

... park and enjoy the spectacular weather while inspecting the artwork and park’s layout. Gaudí was not only a visual artist but also a structural one…the way he designed things was revolutionary and very practical…the physicist/engineer in me was having a field day!

In the afternoon I returned to the main part of town to meet up with my friend Katherine from Chile who now teaches English in Andalucía. She was bringing her two friends ...

Bumming around Barcelona

... which is a strip running up the main street. It's somewhat like an open market with flowers and pets, among other things. I saw a bunch of cute baby animals trapped in cages-very sad. I did get a shot of the mass of baby bunnies, and then I felt ultra bad about eating rabbit in Marbella not too long ago-I apologized to them for that. Also, there was a guy doing the traditional shell game on the street. He would move around these little boxes with a crumpled ...

Muchas Merci....?

... Ciutadella where we found a beautiful fountain with cool statues, such as griffins. A lot of ducks were chillin in the green water. We also ran into a giant mammoth. Later that day we left to get on our plane back to France, while Ben and Will made their way to Amsterdam for a few days before going back to Denver next tuesday. Muchas Merci, is because Ryan would always speak French in Spain. So it became sort of confusing, just like Muchas Merci.

La Playa y el Sol

... is rare by European standards, and nudity isnt illegal so its definitely a "were not in kansas anymore" moment. 3 hours later and 12 shades darker/burnt we headed back to the hostel where we showered up and got ready for the night. Now if youre in the mood to meet a lot of english speaking people and just want to have a guaranteed good time, do the pub crawl. Its iron clad. We all went out, with Partick and Paul (my buddy from high school) and just had ...

Leaving London... again

... some dude was really busting. It was quite a show, and my 'nice' nature prevented me from taking a photo of him taking a leak in the bushes. The other passengers gaving each other a knowing smile and chuckle. Dinner: Lollies. Food at airports are ridiculously expensive. I was flying Ryanair. They have a freestyle seating policy (where you board the plane in order of when you checked in - and you can take any seat you want once inside). There was this couple that ...
