So today was fairly relaxed. This morning I woke up at 5.30am, after finally thinking I had beaten jet lag. I stayed in bed until 8. ****, I tell you what, the construction outside was so loud this morning, whilst the light beaming into my room made it much more difficult to sleep. I got out of bed and had a shower, they have the most amazing shower, a massive shower head with the perfect water pressure. Ahh so much better than my ****** ...
So I got off the plane no more than 14 hours ago, and already I've ****** up my sleeping pattern. The flight was good; I flew from Sydney at around 8.15pm, the plane got delayed for half an hour, which I thought may affect my transits. I met a man in the airport, he was going back home to Iraq, to see his family after 5 years of living as an accountant in Australia. We talked about Spain and Greece. I then boarded the plane and sat next to another man who was ...

BUT we got there on time and when we pulled in, sure enough, there was another line of people ready to board the plane so they could take off again!
Quickly off the plane, quickly got our bags, quickly caught a cab. Expensive cab ride - 35 euros - but ...
... I was, but by morning we both were finding the whole situation ridiculous and funny. Honestly, we were having such luck with all our trips, it just stopped with this one. At least we're able to say we were stranded in Europe, and we were able to make our way home.
We left Wednesday at 5:30 in the afternoon and got back Tuesday at noon. We spent the night in the airport, 2 hostels, 1 train, and 2 buses. We spent 25 hours on a train, 27 hours on a bus, and only 4.5 on the airplane.
