They were incredible heavy; we could barely lift them. The old man made it look so easy, I was surprised that he was able to lift them with such ease. Hey guys,

Today is my last day in Germany (off to Miami tomorrow morning 9am) and I have spent most of the day packing. Quite a challenge if you have never really used a trekking backpack before but I kind of managed to get all my stuff in :) The secret seems to be to pack all heavy items close to your back and surround them with medium to light items for optimal balance. His wife, Aunty Mia could hardly wait to welcome me so that I could go through the volumes of clothing – of outstanding quality and condition; too good for just anybody to wear – for me to try on and take to Australia. At 87 Mia is very active but showing signs of a shrinking world.

We tried to find some cheap bikes to buy at the camping site today but they were all too expensive and there were no small bikes for Sascha. We left the camp site, said good bye to our cousins and drove to an archaeological park in Xanten. It was a Roman settlement many years ago and I got to dress up like a Gladiator in the museum. We drove on and stopped at lake in the evening as it was very hot today. Played campervans got ...
