      ... how you might stay entertained for half an hour (other than staring out at the burka clad shoppers wandering by). Reluctantly we took a pass and wandered to the other side of the mall and that's when we saw it!! Could it be?? We had to be careful because we were in a hot desert climate and mirages are common, but there we were standing in front of that bastion of Canadian coffee, Tim Hortons. The Filipino staff in this Arab country even knew what a 'double-double' was!! Still ...

      I was lucky enough to talk to an ex-pat of Dubai before I came out. He warned me nobody walks, taxi everywhere. Ok, I took this on board but I felt a little self-conscious getting a taxi to something that was in eye-sight so I walked. Hahahahahahhahahahaha ........... I am a d**k!!       Breakfast at the Novotel Suites was pretty good. The door to the adjoined Ibis was open and we sat there and could take food from either side.  After breakfast we found a guy at the hotel who could help us arrange a car. We agreed a price, chose a car, and we said we would like to drop the car off in 3 days at the Grand Hyatt. We said we would be back at 2pm to get the car.
