We are sat in the holding lounge at Dubai International awaiting our 3am flight to Cape Town. We have found 60 minutes' free WiFi and can't believe our luck.

The airport here is massive and generally quite impressive, as was the view of the city flying into land. However, with it being 2am and us only spending ...

I can never sleep very well on planes. My legs are too short and don't touch the ground comfortably. Very annoying! Have to keep moving them so I don't cut off the circulation. It's my first time at Dubai ...

... discovered to our delight that the ticket lasted for 24 hrs from the time of purchase, so it suited our timetable perfectly. Due to the ever-present traffic, it seemed to take ages to travel the 20kms to the point where we could change routes and go to the creek but we got great views of all the tower buildings on the way. The audio commentary was excellent, pointing out where to look for good views of places & particularly the Burj ...
