... form of entertainment of modern day is bull fights, yes bull fights, it is the only town in France that hosts bull fights and allows bulls to be killed during the season each year. Quite a spectacle. Next we headed to The Forum, La Maison Carree which is where the inception of Nimes was founded and another building built in the 1st century AD. ... flowing to Nimes per day. As we walked on the middle level over the aqueduct we noticed etchings in some of the sandstone that had been done by the builders, the tool of use and their names and it is crazy that 2,000 years later their mark is still there for all to see, kind of like putting your kids footprints or handprints in concete, to last forever. ... on our way.

For a while, Linda and I followed Dave as he was shooting video of the gorge with his GoPro camera. We viewed it later at the hotel and it was pretty good. West-bound is the way to cycle Gorges de la Nesque since it's the downhill direction with a grade of a couple of percent so you just let the bike go, tap the brakes now and then, and enjoy the view.

At the end of the gorge in Villes-sur-Auzon we went ...

Nimes to Orange 61k

A travel blog entry by jan-pete-cycle on Sep 14, 2013

Didn't get a good nights sleep, can really feel muscles in my legs for the first time, must have been the cycling on the grass & straw in the Camargue. A breakfast was included in the €150 so made sure we had our money's worth & really filled up. The route was very hilly and it was very hot, had some long walks up steep hills as legs hurt so much, arrived at Orange quite early & Peter was suffering badly from chafing in his, lets say ...
