    We had a wee glitch with the bus today - when we 'read' the map it said it was going around the roundabout then heading in the direction we wanted ... to Cezanne's studio. But actually, it peeled off the roundabout at the very beginning of the journey and took us back in the same direction we'd just come from! Oh well, never mind ... we decided to stay on the bus, hope the driver would forget about us, ... and we'd do ...

    ... nothing at all :) And it was bliss. Woke up late, lazed around writing diaries, reading and catching up on world news until we got hungry enough to venture out in search of food. We found La petite café and had our usual tomato and mozzarella salade with a glass of iced rose, and watched all the people passing by, inventing whole histories for them based on a few seconds observation. A very relaxing way to spend an hour or so under the shade of the beautiful plane ...

    In the night there was a thunderstorm. Heavy lightning and long, rumbling thunder. Naturally I was worried about the weather in the morning. Jane opened the shutter and a clear blue sky emerged - saved! As we were up before Baguette-Man arrived we had early breakfast and were at the beach early. Mr and Mrs Cosmetic already had their plot staked out but obviously were nowhere to be seen. I thought only the Germans did that.... It soon got packed with us English packed ...

    Jane says the music stopped before 11 pm and I have to say it is quiet here after that. Les Lavandes had been close to a big road with motorbikes soaring past and, as we had the flat right next to the main entrance people would wake us up drunkenly banging the door. None of that here.
