... the end there was lots of textures and light. My favourite piece here was from a Chinese artist who drew portraits like others did landscapes, making the faces and people universal in appearance. I am pretty sure that explanation is wrong and I wish I had written down his name to research. But his works were amazing. There was also a piano covered in fabric and a cross that I liked, it's meaning was deep and dark. With this art, it felt ...

We woke up around 9 but were delayed a little since they were able to fit Katie in at the dentist. We hit the post office and got gas before heading out of town. Metz is about an hour and half away. It was a fairly easy drive. Driving into Metz was awesome. The roads here are still strange to me. ... sad part. I almost cried. She was so precious.

For dinner, we met up with Pete and went to get crepes. Creperies are the best place for me to eat because they always have a vegetarian crepe. Pete had one that was called English, so I mean naturally he had to try it. Poppy had the Popeye, naturally. It was really great hanging out with them.

Poppy leaves tomorrow morning and then Pete will leave Monday and it's just going to be little ol me, but only for one day.

So today is l'armistice, which means we don't have any classes. Wahoo! I like the way they celebrate over here, it's a holiday so we don't have class, unlike at home where just the banks are closed but we still have school. So not fair. According to Wikipédia (the French version), "L'armistice de 1918, signé le 11 novembre 1918 à 5h 15, marque la fin des combars de la Premiére Guerre mondiale (1914-1918), la victoire des Alliés et la défffaite totale de l'Allemagne, mais il ne s'agit pas ...
