Mimi was able to spend the day with Helen and so having a car meant we could venture further ... The city dazzles with Art Nouveau and Art Decor ... and seeing Helen's childhood memories was fun ... she had moved several times within Bruxelles from apartment to 4 storey homes ... It was fun enjoying her past and hearing the excitement of a bygone ...

Said goodbye to Porto with some regret. I would really like to return to Portugal someday. It is such a laid back and friendly place. Caught the plane in the early morn and waited for my change in Brussels. Obligatory Belgian beer before leaving then sat on the plane for over an hour waiting for a tour group!!! We tried to watch TV, but most of the channels were in Dutch or German or something that I couldn't understand. There were a few channels in English, which was exciting. But we are going to bed early and sleeping in because tomorrow we have a trip to Sweden. I can't ...

... try to find the post office at the train station but the line is so long there's no way we can wait (as our train leaves in 20 minutes). I'm feeling annoyed at Paris and we weren't even there yet as even with our Euro passes the train tickets were $30 Euro each (and this was the shortest train ride, 1.5 hours!) We buy ourselves a sandwich and a drink and get onto the train. The ride goes real fast and it's not long before we arrive in Paris (around 2.30pm Tuesday 12 ...
