    Too many Beers in Brussels

It was strange to arrive in Brussels and discover everyone was speaking French. It was also harder to find our way around as all the street names were slightly different than our map.

Another day we stroll the streets looking at the graffiti art, comic strips, the Palais de Justice, small peeing boy statue (Mannequin Pis), Grand Place and …

... smooth (no screaming kids this time either) & once it leaves the suburbs it really does get going. Unfortunately we were about 20 mins late getting in, due to a signal fault along the line. Poor Dave trying to get our suitcases off when we arrived, he was jostled, pushed and generally everyone seemed to want to make it as difficult as possible. We ended up pulling up stools at the railway station Starbucks for breakfast in the hope of using and a using their free wifi, but it turned out to be too slow and mostly useless. We found our reserved seats on the train without issue but there were no racks in the car for our bags. We ended up doing what others did and just put them on non reserved seats further in the cabin. ...

Never has the song been apt. With around 1500km in front of us, our car packed to the brim, we had a mission to drive home for Christmas. The journey here was very very tiring. With only one stop in Speyer, we were left with stretches of 700km on the autobahn. Not my idea of a fun day. So this time we split the journey three ways. First stop - Regensburg, Bavaria Regensburg is a UNESCO world heritage site about one hour north of Munich. It's a gorgeous little city, ...

... had roast chicken with tarragon sauce (really delicious), Thomas had pasta (he says the best he's ever tasted) and Ben had the duck (Asian style and beautifully done). We met some Americans on the way out of the restaurant who could believe Tom was wearing shorts in the cool weather. This couple gave us some ideas on what to see. Off to bed as TV was news or not ...
