Of course this place has a style all its own we're in Japan! :) Very excited to be here. Destination: Shimoda and our home for 3 nights at Shirahama beach. It's a little surfie town that looks straight out of the seventies. Our plan is to relax after the big city. We're all glad to be here. Only drawback is the rain. We're hoping for some fine ...

... in the torrential rains and were trying to find a museum to park us in for a few hours. Andre and I finally couldn't take anymore, decided to cut our losses and head back to Tokyo. We asked for our tickets for the bullet train but were refused. We were told that we would have to make our back on our own. We caught a taxi to the nearest train station and were able to figure out how to take 3 commuter trains (over 100 km distance) to get back to Tokyo.

... base shuttle on its long, slow, meandering route back to the Navy Lodge. Eat a late dinner, put Will to bed and collapse. The good news is the more time I spend on the shuttle and learning a lot of military rules in class, the happier I am that we have to live in town. The great news is we found a house we love. It's about a 20 minute drive by car and located between 2 stations/lines each about a 10 minute walk away. In addition, it's close to ...
