    ... how to count to 99. I know the Hiragana characters for a,e, i, o, and u. That's not nearly enough but it's a start, at least.

    I'm here. I'm in Japan. I am almost in Okinawa with Turntz. Still feeling ever so delirious, but reality has finally kicked in. We are almost reunited--for good this time!

    I'll do my very best to update from Oki tonight, but no promises. I may just be too obsessed with my annoying, wonderful, handsome hubs.

    ... one of their lady friends to talk to us. As it turns out she speaks perfect English and did her studies in Australia. She embroidered the obi she is wearing herself. Amazing pieces these ladies made, the tiniest little stitches all perfectly done!! On Ikebukuro Plaza we also discover an owl statue we hadn't seen yet. Around 6 pm we walk to the Metropolitan Hotel ...

    ... and most areas are spotlessly clean so despite my reservations about big cities it proved to be a place of real contrasts, where some areas have neon lights and blaring music on huge advertising screens along streets where all your senses seem to be assaulted at every turn there's also some quiet places like parks and the customary temples and shrines although some really popular areas can be pretty crowded but in true Japanese style it's all very civilised.     ... which is one of my favourite hotel sites and always my first stop when travelling. The location was and quiet. Our tourist destinations for our first couple of days were: - Shibuya Crossing - Meiji-jingu Shrine - Sky Tree - Imperial Palace - Fire Museum Shibuya Crossing is a famous intersection right outside Shubiya Metro station. It is quite mesmerising to watch. A good vantage point is from Starbucks on the 1st floor so look for that. ...
