    Alexa had the pleasure of hearing a man and woman argue loudly this morning in the lobby when she and Brad were heading to the gas station market across the road. It was time to get out of the area.

    Our next stop was the Avenue of the Giants in the Humboldt Redwoods State Park. We did this 31 mile drive with all three kids in 2005. We worked backwards on the auto tour.

    As we continued our journey along the Russian river, finding a spot to camp looked less and less likely as everyone had had the same idea as us to escape the heat.     ... I planned to go to the beach first when the tide was low, and then do a couple short bluff walks after when the tide was high.

    The beach I went to was Blind Beach, and then I also went to Goat Rock Beach too. I parked on the top of a bluff in a parking lot and then walked down the path to the beach. It was awesome. I didn't see anyone there as I walked down.
