Day 6 - Golfing and wait for it....another Chateau

... clubs. Get that, clubs we are not used to. A half set for Kathy (one wood which was a 5 wood) Jerry had a driver and a 4 rescue. Yes, we did have a full set of irons between us and we got by.

Jerry played a pretty good round, it took Kathy about 8 holes to finally find her groove. We did note something about playing golf in France. After a bad shot and a foul word (yep they sometimes slip out) there is no need to say "excuse my French" ...

Bit of a sleep in
Missed breakfast but did get cuppa & toast
Off to Chambord
Immense walled park -bigger than centre of Paris
Impressive sight when see chateau come into view
Huge, amazing, show of power, crazy roofline

... she was looking for a job at a winery in the U.S. Particularly California. Jerry shared with her the possibilities of Washington State and the wonderful wines/wineries available. We left with one bottle of red. I have to tell you, wine is really inexpensive here. I thought the bottle prices were the tasting prices!

... made quiche with rillettes which is a slow cooked pork dish. Both were delicious - along with the pastries that happened to come our way (choux pastry with custard and a rum glaze, and a pear and chocolate cake) that was washed down by very good coffee. I am so pleased we have found more consistent quality dining this holiday and we are easily embracing the slow and appreciative art of dining that the French practice.
