... sunny warm weather we have become accustomed to , only light breezes as well.

Bressac a chateau was our stop for the morning as it turned out , 7 stories , 8 square kms of grounds and a bizarre mix of medieval and gothic architecture in a building never completed made a perfectly fine start to our Loire experience. We took the guided tour and enjoyed the splendour of the assorted dukes antique collection .

Having said that it is actually a strikingly beautiful building dominated by a wonderfully grand double helix stair case inspired by Leonardo da Vinci.

We enjoyed the cycle in the grounds and back to St Dye some 8km away.

... when we had to stop - one of the bike's handle bars hadn't been tightened so turning corners was not an option until they were fixed. We travelled through the old part of Blois and then proceeded along the edge of Loire river.
