... a little lost coming into town, and rode an extra 3 or 4 kms. Surely we'll get it right sooner or later. At least it's not as bad as being lost in a car, and trying to manoeuvre in traffic. Blois is quite a big city, probably similar size to Ballarat, and has the mandatory chateau, perched high above the town. They must have had plenty of time in the 10th century, as the rock walls are about 50 mts high. Would have taken years. Wouldn't have suited me, I want it ...

... to Paris, where they will be waiting for me when my hike is over. I was able to lighten my backpack by 5.5lbs, which is major. Things that I didn’t need: an umbrella, a sleeping bag, a portable charger for my ipod, a third bra, a third t-shirt, a necklace, a bracelet, a canvas tote bag, a tube of mascara, a massage ball for my feet and one for my shoulders, my small camera tripod (which was very useful in Paris when I was alone), and extra cards that I had ...

This added 3km to our walk today, which wasn’t so bad, but we were already planning on walking a bit further ...

... the small town, we saw a grand castle with turrets in the distance, and we all thought that this is where I would be staying for the night. No such luck. We asked at the local café for directions to the chateau, and I was pointed in the direction of a large farm house. The room was comfortable, clean, smelled of flowers, and I had a private bathroom for the first time in weeks. The welcome by the proprietor wasn’t very warm, but I was ...

... met Nathelies mother at just before 2.00 pm. We had met her before 2 years ago and found her much the same, a warm and friendly person who sowed us Nathalies house. We had been to the house 2 years ago and at that time it was a building site undergoing a major restoration and was a bit of a bomb site. The house is two story, the ground floor is a shop front with three rooms in the rear and a small outside garden, and on the first floor are 2 bedrooms, ...
