... year and since he is retired, he just sorta floats along the pct corridor as it suits him. We knew we had a reasonably short day ahead of us with one huge special treat built in. In 13.6 miles, we would be coming across a freaking McDonalds as we crossed I15. Every hiker we came across that day was purely salivating. We all knew it was coming. ... terrible here the drivers have been courteous considering how much time they spend in traffic; we are not made for highly congested areas, didn't realize there were so many mountains around; you never know what city you are in as it is like Phoenix where there are no indications of a city change and their campaign of share the road with motorcycles only works one way as Motorcycles don't wait behind the cars.

Terry has driven 3,218 miles in the JEEP Only.....On to the next ...

... brown mountains in the background, a few cacti and bars scattered around with a sprinkle of dust. After a wander in Sedona for a couple of hours we continued south where we came to Navajo point. The locals were selling all sorts of trinkets and jewellery and Lucky decided to get a pendant from one of the ladies here. There were pendants for sale in Sedona but they were not made by Native American Indian.

A couple of hours later we arrived on the outskirts ...

... re used to, this field is an utter mess - pumpjacks facing every which-a-ways, low slack-span powerlines zig-zag all over the place, nothing seems symetrical, pipelines are laid on the ground and the roads look like a BMX track. If they want a road to go "over there," they dump a load of dirt on the pipeline and drive over it. What the....?Heading to Hemet, CA felt like we were heading home - our friends were waiting. Elwood and I kick about at the hotel whilst Noah does sensible things like: get fuel and check the oil, water and tyres. We saw enough desert on yesterday's journey to know that we are not going to mess with the desert.

We drive through Yucca Valley, Joshua Tree and Twenty Nine Palms and arrive in Joshua Tree National Park ...
