... Photographs are taken and once again we are made to feel like celebrities. Quite bizarre really but this has happened so many times we really are feeling like celebs! Leaving Barstow Route 66 follows the National Old Trails Highway and that follows the Mojave river. What river? There was none! As dry as. The small towns along the way are mere dots on a map - blink and you miss them. Directed onto the Interstate ...

... a football like them. The training lasts an hour or so and I'm happy to be in the car with the heat pumping. We head back, get lost a little bit, but return safely. Not that we shouldn't return safely. I'm back at sorting my phone. I noticed, while at the baseball field, that I didn't have any reception, and I didn't at the house still. There was an issue here. I'm up with the kids again and go to bed around ...

Wellllllllll.......... things got interesting last Tuesday afternoon, August 6 but things are OK and thankfully we've been able to continue the trip without too much lost time although we were unable to visit two of my favorite desert parks; Mojave Preserve and Joshua Tree.

Just after passing through Needles, CA on Interstate 40 and heading into ...

... This tour lasted about 45 minutes and I could easily have gone around again. Then I went to the lower level of the park to do "The Mummy" roller coaster ride. Adrenalin rush of note. I mean they double strap you into the seat - I was scares out of my wits but once it was over, I wanted to do that again too - until I saw the photo that had been taken. I'd have loved to have bought it as a keepsake but at $25 my sanity prevailed. Straight after that I did ...

Have you slept in a wigwam lately?

... there are 20 wigwams (with 2 x beds, a tv, and a bathroom so perhaps not the most authentic wigwam!) and they just circle around a grassed area , picnic table and pool. It is really lovely and has a nice family feel. The view is also exceptional. Thank you Joycees

We grab a pizza for dinner and then that is the end of me and Elwood. We conk out and Noah stays up and admires he his beautiful photos.

A big wigwam good night to you ...
