... ruins on top of a mountain. The ruins were fascinating, but the hike to get to them was on a path that went through woods with a creek and waterfall along the way. Very picturesque! When we headed out there was a light rain falling at their house (the first we'd had since we arrived), but we headed out with raincoats and umbrellas and hoped for the best. I asked our tour guide where we went to get our complimentary Mercedes-Benz but apparently he thought I was kidding! It was an amazing tour. I was fascinated and mesmerized by the robotics. I think I need to get one of those cars for sure.

... festival and in in their town. Very charming and if we hadn't come here at Christine's suggestion, we would never have seen it...or met her father. He was like the unofficial mayor of the town. Everywhere we went people would stop him to say hello. He is a biologist and was a professor (also local bat expert). He also had wonderful insight into the city and its history. He was wonderful to meet and even more wonderful to have as our tour ...

... is nothing short of amazing. After the tour of the inside of the castle, we had a picnic lunch and then went to the Kloster Bebenhausen which was a former medieval monastery. Some of the buildings were converted into a royal hunting palace in the 19th century. While we were there we saw the Mayor of Tubingen...no paparazzi but a camera crew (of one)! I take that back...since I snapped a few pictures of him, I guess I qualify as paparazzi!
