Great breakfast, all inclusive service (including lugging our bags up the cliffs), very helpful advice, and the views!

Wow, Santorini is unlike any other place on the world, with little time to write any posts or do anything else. Santorini is made up of a number of white square and round houses perched on top a huge caldera (volcano crater). It's hard to sum up Santorini except through pictures, but perhaps the most memorable part of it apart from the fantastic …

Another day on the sea and all is well, the day started with the sun is not quite shining but the sea was calm. We had an early start as the ship docked in the beautiful bag of Santorini at 7.30 am and Marty and I headed off an excursion at 8.15. We finally arrived and managed to get off the very busy boat about mid afternoon onto the an even busier dock with the masses. Absolutely mental. The whole thing was packed with people and cars and signs for various hotels ...

... was ash. Our tour guide toldus that much of the surrounding cliffs were very porous, so porous in fact that islanders were able to dig out caves to live in, sometimes with just their hands. Pumice is the rock that formed and the island of Santorini for years exported huge amounts of Pumice until the government halted the practice for fear of undermining the stability of the islands resources. Leigh tried digging at the side of the cliff and handfuls of ...
