Today i have gotten back from Paris which is about 8 hours. I had a great time on Last Monday me and one of my friends that i met there we were room mates. we ened up to be late for our first trip to the Sacre Courer. it was 9:13 and we had to leave at 9:15 so we ran around packing food and having to get changed the bus waited but we ened up being …
... stayed with during an exchange student trip in high school. We all went to Angelina, which is a gorgeous restaurant down the street from the Louvre known for its hot chocolate. Even though we had to wait awhile to get in, it was SO worth it!! Naturally it was the best hot chocolate of my life. They give you a little pot with what I'm guessing is just straight up melted chocolate, and then a big cup with a lot of cream (like whipped cream but better). So you pour in some chocolate ...

as we walked down there were roadside markets and Ben... I had the best Salmon I have had in my life. It was Nordic grilled over a fire and I am salivating just writing about it. Tried some sidewalk creeps but they weren't crash hit. ...
Well we're off to Troyes today. What an adventure just lugging our bags through the metro to get to our above ground station and I've **********e any shopping! Karen, Bruce,Liz, Tania, Trace and I are all going to play in Troyes for a few days. Troyes use to be the capital of the champagne area. Arrived at our accommodation in Troyes (La Villa de la Paix), pouring rain and no one there to let us in. Met a very ...
... group. A large elevator took us up there. It was windy and quite chilly that monring but the sky was clear and bright so we could see the entire city. It was breathtaking.... such a big, clean, well organized and beautiful city. There were souvenir shop and cafes up on the third floor of the Eiffel Tower!

Historical Traveler Reviews Hotel Astra Opera - Astotel Paris

Not worth four stars
I booked a five day stay there with my husband and didnīt know what to expect from this hotel. I read about itīs havng 4 stars and a great location.... and was excited at first (nice lobby) and then was greatly disappointed.
First of all they gave us a room with two separate beds which we refused. Then the next room (and only other one free, as they told us!) they offered us was on a floor with no elevator access, most tiny, with a sloppy made bed and a bathroom about the size of a suitcase!
Staff was rather unfriendly and unwilling to help. Breakfast not that bad.
I will definetely NOT stay there again in spite of itīs fantastic location!
The hotel is proudly displaying its 4th Star these days, but it makes me question the star system. I can completely understand 3 Stars -- see below, but the 4th has me mystified.
First impressions of this hotel were excellent. The lobby and lounge/bar area is clean, tidy and ultra modern. The first signs that our room (an Expedia 'Special Rate' might be different ) were when we were told the main lift only went as far as the sixth floor and to get to the top floor required using the service lift! (not too bad although one morning we couldn't get in it as it was full of dirty laundry and sheets so had to use the stairs and then the rather plusher main lift!) The hallways were in 1970s orange and brown decor and the room very small (i.e. door, chair, very uncomfortable, sagging bed and wardrobe!). The ensuite bathroom, however, was brand new, v.clean and excellent shower.
Great staff, but small rooms
Good location, but rooms very small. Booking with Best Western online gave no options for bigger rooms. Also quite a lot of noise from the other rooms.Staff great, very friendly
I've stayed at this hotel about 5 times over the last 4 years, and have always enjoyed it. This is one of my absolute favorites when traveling for business because it is the best located, best connected location in Paris!
Excellent Location, Beautiful hotel!
I absolutely loved this hotel! It is situated on a small, quaint street and just steps away from all of the department stores. There is a metro station conveniently at the end of the street, which will take you anywhere in Paris in a matter of minutes. I preferred to walk everywhere -- the opera house, the Louvre, the Madeleine church, etc.
The rooms themselves are small (to be expected), but nicely decorated and very clean! I highly recommend this hotel if you don't mind paying a little extra. Service=excellent! The man at the front desk helped us plan a quick getaway to Versailles-- The whole staff is very detail-oriented.
