2 nights in Lucerne
Chapel Bridge and stirring Lion Monument. Then embark on an exhilarating ride by cog-wheel train to the summit of Mount Pilatus. Admire the panorama of snow-capped peaks, before descending by cable-car over mountain crags and pine forests back to terra firma. There is time set aside to shop for fine watches and delicious chocolate in Lucerne.
Last night in Lucerne
This morning we ventured to Mt. Pilatus via the cogwheel railway and returned via one cableway gondola that held all 29 of us halfway down the mountain, then transferred to a smaller Gondola that held only four of us and took us the rest of the way down. Lucerne's Lions and Dragons
Visit a French perfumery in the village of Eze before passing through the Italian Lake District en route to Switzerland. Stunning Alpine scenery surrounds you on the way to Lucerne. In the morning, ascend by cog-wheel railway to the summit of Mount Pilatus, long associated with a mysterious dragon, for stunning 360 degree views of the Alps. Back in …
Lucerne
Lucerne The weather gods continue to shine on us. No fog this morning for our ascent to mt rigi which is not quite as tall as mt Pilatus which cradles lucerne but still a lot taller than I'm used to. We started going up the mountain in the first cog railcar of the day so we also got to do the mail run, which I have to say was fun. When we got to …

Beautifully appointed room, free wi-fi (which we soooo need these days), lovely helpful staff on the desk.

Nice modern hotel in an excellent location. Just a short walk across the old wooden covered bridge to the historic area of Lucerne. Only negative is the hotel did not have free WiFi in the guest rooms or the reception area.
