... stands out hugely here is the high customer service and how nothing is a problem and they are very friendly and helpful. Bailey asked that Tiff donate to a family with special needs. We bumped into a lovely family whose daughter had cerebral palsy and Tiff had a great chat. Dinner ended up at Piccolono Cucina in Soho just 3 of us as everyone was tired and did their own thing. ... I will call it 'Melted Dreams'. It's a metaphor about how teachers feel when summer draws to a close. One rather interesting thing I learned was about the modern day signage in the NYC subway stations. An Italian graphic designer was commissioned to streamline the confusing subway system. He created the simple white on black words and the different colored circles with letters for the different routes. That's modern art I can get behind. ...

Today I explored the Brooklyn neighborhood of Park Slope. Before I did that I visited a salon in the neighboring area of Prospect Heights. When I was on my way to the concert last night I walked by this salon with some of the employees on the sidewalk soliciting business.
