The locals refer to it as "Dolly Parton Island" -- for obvious reasons. The Cairns Airport is very nice, and the 3 hour flight from Cairns to Sydney was good. We flew out over the coast first and I got a good view of the Great Barrier Reef from the air. I took some pictures, but they don't do ...

In the evening I went for a beautiful dinner in Aria restaurant overlooking the harbour with Dads friend Peter, his wife Lou, daughter Lauren and Lauren's boyfriend, Ben. it was a real treat to have some delicious gourmet food, tasty wine and top notch champagne with such an incredible view and great company.

In between lots of nice coffees, cocktails, and food around Sydney myself and Mia had some ...

On Sunday we checked into our hostel in the city, Maze. It's probably the worst hostel we've stayed in and I'm surprised to say even though the hostels here are so much more expensive than in Asia they are worse. For the first time on our trip I'm keeping my flip flops on to shower. We are here for ...
