We left Sauvignone soon after 09:00 and took the autostrade to Turin and then onwards to Briancon. We stopped at Momtgenevre where relatively fresh snow had been swept for the road into piles on the car park. ... up to the Chateau and then around the old Medieval center a bit before popping in to the Cafe de Ducs. We had a beer, a glass of wine and a snack, all with a canal side view of the Thiere, the main canal, and the Palais de l'Isle as the sun set over the town.

We identified the sites we had missed, keen to see some of the fountains in this water town as well as the new thermal baths, the Church of Notre Dame and the Japanese Garden. And whether they didn’t see it, or it didn’t register as anything worth mentioning, I don’t know.
