Bbq and trip

... will be fun. It's sprinkling out and cloudy, so unfortunately we won't be outside for the BBQ, but it should be fun. The other problem is that most of the students are feeling the pressure of work. They have a paper that is coming due in a couple weeks (the undergrads do) as well as a book that we all have due in a few weeks. Most claim they will sit at their desks and work. We'll see.

One other note as I sit here doing work in the Villa. It is cold out. I live in a house made of marble and stone. How dumb is it that the Genova government determines when heat is turned on in the city?? Yes, that is right. No one in the city can turn on their heat until the government turns it on for them. And they don't do it until December. While it wasn't bad outside today, it is COLD in side. I bet ...

i think we have spent the last five days stuck in the villa working! Saturday was a bit of a wash. While I tried to get work done I was exhausted after the Villa party. Therefore, I gave myself leave to enjoy watching football "on the big screen" which was really just the game projected from my computer to the wall of the living room. But it was fun. We tailgated, Gary made us burgers, and then watched the game. Gary is a 48 year old (49 next month) undergrad in landsape architecture. ...

Den 3. Tag in Genua habe ich dazu genutzt, an meiner XT den dringend notwendigen Austausch der Bremsbeläge hinten machen zu lassen und den bei meinem Sturz auf den Militärpässen halb abgebrochenen Kupplungshebel erneuern zu lassen.
Dabei hat mir mein italienischer Freund Lino di Vinci ...
