A local put it succinctly by responding to my question of 'parlez-vous anglais?' with 'no, parlez- vous francais?'. Fair enough too.

Nydelig etappe med godt underlag for beina.
Varmen var heller ikke paatrengende.

I dag hadda vi flere fine opplevelser langs veien. Motte interessante mennekser og spiste to overdaadige maaltider.

Vi er noyaktig halveis paa turen. Saa no kan man si at nedteelingen i dager og kilometer er i gang. Men fortsatt en lang vei og mange dager for vi kan klatre over Pyreneene.

... Then Juliet spied a sign pointing to a restaurant 2kms away. After a bit of debate, we decided we'd walk there.
It was stinking hot even at that time of the evening but we trudged on down a country lane.
We ended up at a lakeside camping ground where they had a big sprawling centre where you could get a meal.
Pizza was pretty much it on the menu so we both ordered that and sat on a nice verandah overlooking the lake watching the ...

... were over 150 walkers all following the same route, some starting out at 6.00 am with others setting off at about 8.00 am.

We also noticed many cyclists crossing the Pyrenees (puff, puff) and riding through villages. We prefer the motorised version of two wheels!

In the same village where we stopped and spoke to the two walkers, a six girls playing music that sounded like it was out of an American Revolutionary ...
