and they're off...

ok, ok I know I haven't gone yet, but I've got to start somewhere. As I will have to put up with fizzy watery 2% strength Budwesier, Labatts, Michelob for the next 5 weeks I went to the pub for several pints of Boddingtons with my fan club (ie Cheryl, Catherine and Julie) We ended up in Julie's house playing with her cat (no Mrs Slocombe jokes please)and Conny (Mr Julie)kindly reminded me that Liverpool have signed Peter Crouch from Southampton for £7Million. He owed us a season as we rescued...

Passage!

So there we have it - the ferry is booked! I will be taking the 'King of Scandanavia' out of the country at 1700 on the 5th December. It's another one of those milestone events that forces one to reflect on the reality of the situation; however fear has given way to anticipation on that score.

For a few hours yesterday I considered "copping out" with the Dover to Calais crossing - being cheaper ...

Tonight i started filling plastic baggies with spices and wondering idly whether or not they will get me arrested at customs... might have to reconsider the larder options.
Our first full day out and about!

After a night of jet lagged induced sleep we traveled across the Welsh border into a town called Chester. This is in the county of Cheshire in England. Two countries in one day!! NOT BAD!!

Chester is famous for a number of things from horse racing to the wall that the Romans built in AD 79, that surrounds the city.

We had a wonderful day walking around the shops. The weather was a refreshing change from the Florida heat!! A beautiful day to spend outside.

We would like to have stayed and watched for a bit, but had apparently missed the entry road, and didn't want to turn about in the heavy market-day traffic headed into Llangollen! Approaching Shropshire, we admired lovely pastoral views of the Cambrian Mountains ...
