Arrived back in Samarinda to find no taxi as Aidil Fitri. Mad dash to get bag left at hotel and back to bus station to catch flight leaving in 4 hours with 2 hour trip. Lucky one taxi was at bus station but wanted double fare. Refuse first then he dropped price and we left. Mad driving to get us to airport fast. Made it
Today Wahab took us around and we got to see Tarakan and we met loads of people who took our picture. We first went to the mangroves to see the Proboscis monkeys – it was amazing they had a little feast and enjoyed their bananas. We really loved it there.

We took the boat to the mainland and then continued with the car to Maluang where another driver picked us up to get to Tanjung Selor so we can catch the boat to Tarakan. Serge was very helpful and arranged for the car and a guide in Tarakan who will help us buy our ferry tickets to Tawau for the 23 December. Where we will continue in the evening to Kota Kinabalu, spend the night and then travel to Mulu on 24 December ...

But, lucky me that I made reservation in Andhika Hotel before leaving to Samarinda and IDR 235.000 fare for two persons. Shared price with my travelmate and there are twin bed, TV and shower available in the room. There are some facilities that we get like breakfast buffet and free Wi-Fi.
