Today saw us checking out of the Alila hotel in Jakarta and heading to Stasion Gambir to catch the train to Bandung. The train trip took us 3 hours and it was gorgeous. ... small villages and fields which I later found out are tea, coffee or sugar cane plantations. These are the biggest commodities produced in west Java. Watching these small village work from the distance of the train was quiet amazing – I saw school children playing, a small cemetery full of flowers and even in the countryside copious amounts of motorbikes. ... next day we decide to head into town which involves a short walk and then a local bus, called an angkot here. He drops us at the geographic museum and we make our way inside. As it's a week day there are a few school trips and the kids are fascinated by us, asking lots of questions and trailing us at times.
The museum is great, having many fossils and bones including a huge mammoth and elephant. There's also a replica T-rex and many real dinosaur ...
