A part of the famous Kaanapali Beach Resort, the Aston at The Whaler focuses on island-style hospitality in a laid-back and comfortable atmosphere. Guests enjoy immediate access to the Pacific at this ocean-side resort.           ... took a lesson in the pool. Katie and Riley were very comfortable in the water. Jeff not so much. Mr firefighter prefers to run into houses on fire over scuba diving! They opted to keep their scuba diving in the pool and save the ocean for snorkeling.

          ... s sandy beaches are made out of fish poop (you'll have to go on the tour to get the details of that one). Fortunately the tour only cost us 6 bucks after the timeshare presentation, so at least we didn't feel ripped off. And since I have a really positive impression of the glass bottom boat ride I took as a kid, hopefully the kids will have good memories.

          After the ride, we headed back to the condo to make use of the pool one last time. ...

          ... of the Hana lettuce, Maui tomatoes, Maui pineapple, and Costco pre-prepped mashed potatoes. Ok, so maybe the whole menu wasn't local, but man those potatoes are GOOD! For dessert I'd tracked down some Roselani's Chocolate Macadamia Nut ice cream, which is also made here on Maui. Man, that stuff was dangerous. We made the mistake of bringing the carton into our room after the kids went to bed. It's fair to say that we ate way too much, but it was Oh So Good!
