This is a resort town on the coast. Just 15 minutes away are the ruins of Ephesus, an ancient city. Two giant theaters, one held 25,000 people. There was a library, marketplace, brothel. For an additional fee you could tour the Terrace Houses. One of them was 10,000 sq.ft. They had hot and cold running water and central heating in times before Christ! Wild cats are everywhere. ...

We stopped roadside along the way to visit the locals selling nuts and dried fruits and stocked up on our apricot and almost stash. We wish we could have taken advantage of buying jars of olives, olive ...

... I didn't fall so it's really cool that I did that. Sites have no liability issues here in Turkey!

It's a hot, sweaty hike up the ancient cobbled path through town, and then a few kms down to the coast, through many more rough leftovers, including a large necropolis full of sarcophagi and a nice ruined theater facing the sea. The map pin is set right at the peak, where the temple ruins are.
