One of the reasons for this trip was to visit the Water Resources Institute of Jiangxi. A delegation came to visit the Toowoomba campus earlier this year, on the basis of trying to find a partner institute in Australia to work with. They were so impressed by our presentation, that they invited us to reciprocate the travel and go to their campus.

We met with Mr Wu who is the Director of the Institute and a full delegation of ...

... 100 Yuan which is $NZ20. Originally our hosts were going to organise meals for us each day but the logistics of that were difficult and the decision was made to leave us to our own devices. However, today is slightly different. We have been told that Nanchang food is significantly hotter than food in other areas of China and finding cuisine that agreed with our stomachs would be difficult if we were to walk into any random restaurant. So today ...

    Three ancient villages

... paid for my ticket again and we wandered around all morning through dilapidated buildings and on hand cut sidewalks. There's not a lot to say about the ancient village, it was the same as most of the villages I have seen, but perhaps there was a more "authentic" feeling there. Probably because people still live there in the old style and there were a lot of chickens running around. I realized THIS is how bird ...
