    Lovely place to stay

    A very lovely hotel with a very spacious room and stunning views of the mountains surrounding Takayama. However the restaurants here very expensive.

    Today we said goodbye to Hakone and headed off to Takayama.

    We caught a bus to Odawara train station and then boarded a Shinkansen (bullet train) to Nagoya. Top speed of the train was 275kph. Im really impressed with how smooth the ride was. As the weather was fine we got another chance to see Mt Fuji as the train zoomed by.

We saw a few ladies dressed in traditional kimonos, but without heavy make up and my guess was that they were mainly available for photo ops.
