I was expecting Queenstown to just have the bungee and other ways to hurt yourself, but It has actually turned out to be a really scenic town and of course a bit of a party place. I finally caught up with the magic bus after 3 days of trying!!! And met up with Ali and Colm, whom I met in Taupo. They were with Nick and Emily, from Germany and Canada. We all stayed in Aspen Lodge, which sounds like a resort hostel and it sort of was... On arriving I had to go out for a long run, because I had b...
Queenstown, New Zealand hodgeWell after arriving in Aukland and thinking i was in England i decided to fly to Queenstown...Not sure why but figured why not!..My initial thoughts were "oh me god it's so small" I stayed in an awful hostel were no-one spoke to me! It was full of 18 year of English people.....I'd arrived from a country where i didn't speak the language and spoke to everyone to a country where i speak the same language and no-one spoke...This wasn't what it was meant to be like!?! Queenstown, New Zealand jparkerHello all - next installment.... Monday 17 March 2008 - 21:16 Location: Murcure Hotel Willis Street, Wellington A pity that we spent most of a glorious cloudless day on the coach, but it did make the lovely views look wonderful. We did see a further mud pool (more water in this one - very blubby). We visited Taupo, a place that Lionel's Aunt Anne and Uncle Brian lived in for a couple of years. Following that we travelled along the 'Desert Road' which can close in the winter if there is snow! ...
Queenstown, New Zealand lionelandsueSo the rest of the transfers went okay and we and our bags managed to arrive in Queenstown safely. Arrived to a gorgeous view in Queenstown- absolutely stunning as the runway is in the middle of the south alps ( i think that's what they're called) and the weather was clear and bright. Only had to wait an hour for Brooke and Bens' flight ti come in but we were like excited children waiting for them in arrivals and I'm sure we drove everybody crazy! But they finally arrived had big hugs and the...

Queenstown, New Zealand yam_cinaThe experience of a life time. The highest bungy jump in NZ. 8 seconds of free fall to the bottom of the canyon. Amazing thing hard to explain and the music was great.
Queenstown, New Zealand yam_cinaThe next day we climb a small hill in front of the backpacker to see the view of the town and slide on the carts there. The view was nice and the company as well. After the hill we went back to the town to the best ice cream in Queenstown, Patagonia.

... to Milford Sounds with. Just after pick up we drove further and our plan was to stay overnight in Te Anau. However the car decided to rebel again and in the middle of nowhere it just switched off completely. Shortly a car passing by pulled over and towed us to nearby little town, from we were towed back to Queenstown.
For the night we stayed in X-base, backpackers' lodge popular especially with the youth.
... us. this is when sean pipes up to say that he thinks that when i found them all scattered under the seat, she must have been halfway through taking them up into the inner depths of the van, inaccessible to us, and i must have disturbed her thus explaining why we could only find six of the seven mice when we first started rescuing them! anyway, so they have gone, but where, we don't know! so that night, all we can do is wonder, avoid the toads at the toilets, and sleep! the next ...
Queenstown, South Island, New Zealand vickz_2... and used to be in the rodeo where he was injured on several occasions with doctors saying he could never be in the rodeo again, but he was able to continue doing it. He was totally blind in his left eye and going blind in his right eye, and he also had a steel plate in his arm. Despite all of this, he lived life to the full, and shared some life lessons and wisdom with us. Here are just of few of his recent ventures. He rode a horse and carriage all the ...
Queenstown, South Island, New Zealand erincastillo... are also gondolas you that can take up one of the mountains that get a lot of use during the ski season. We met up with the four lads that we were travelling with from Nelson until Wanaka. John and three of the lads, Chris, Gorby and Hishem all did the AJ Hackett Nevis bungy together. It's one hundred and thirty four metres above the ground. I didn't want to watch them do it but if I did they charge $50 to watch! After they did their bungy we all went to Ferg ...
Queenstown, South Island, New Zealand annemarie.demp... zombie: exhilarated, but physically shaking, and very, very tired. Zola just wanted to go back and do more races. Eventually, we made it back to our house, out for a very nice dinner, and now off to bed. I don't know how the kids felt about all of this. This was a fun day. Tomorrow we have jet boating, mountain biking, and something called a "funyak" New Zealand is definitely growing on us. HOORAY! MOM AND DAD ARE STILL ALIVE!
