A Different Point of View

... go, I wanted to let you all know that I was selected to do some advance public relations and marketing work in Veracruz, Mexico. When the cast flies to Mexico City in September, I will fly ahead to Veracruz and work for 2 weeks to prepare the town for UWP's arrival. While I will be missing a few shows, I will be gaining a monumental amount of experience as I work with UWP's marketing team and practice my Spanish!

Good night, sleep tight, and don't let the bed bugs bite!

SKIP IT! It was ok...

... Restaurant,a charming victorian style restaurant with affordable pricing, in the historic Delaware Hotel. We finished up the sight seeing at the National Mining Hall of Fame & Museum and met back up with the shuttle at 3:00pm to return to Vail.Overall, it was a pleasant day...but I certainly wouldn't go out of my way to visit Leadville...

Leadville - known for silver, gold and molybdenum

We went from 10,200 feet to over 11,200 feet on the 11 mile ride.

Leadville is the highest incorporated municipality in the US.

I talked to two brothers staying at the Christie Lodge in Avon, CO where we're spending the week about golf in Leadville. The ball really flies at the highest golf course in the US.

Our 2nd day in Colorado

Started off the day dealing with unexpected car troubles. After spending hours at the closest Subaru dealer, they couldn't do the brakes today as they needed parts. Supposedly they'll finish first thing tomorrow and we'll be on our way with only a couple hour delay.

The girls slept late while I was at the car place, and came later with Hannah and her grandma and we had lunch. After we ate they went to a local hot ...

Drive through Independence Pass to Carbondale CO

... 82 towards the pass, the girls were a bit anxious at the idea of climbing to 12,000 feet. Their nerves grew as we started the steep ascent through hairpin turns and winding narrow roads. I convinced them to chill and that we would make it alive, and by the time we hit the top and could get out and walk around, they were enjoying themselves. At the top the air was noticeably thinner, and the ...

A Life on the Road

... up on the couch of some Jackson Hole friends who'd relocated to Santa Monica, and I could still smell the vodka sweating out of my pores. I got in the elevator in a daze...and I think Larry David thought I was going to rob him.LarryHe didn't seem nearly as neurotic in real life, although, with the way I looked and smelled, I think he really did think I was going to mug him. He was wearing ...

Aspen at last

Our first day skiing on Aspen mountain was fast, furious, exhausting and thoroughly delightful! There was a fresh layer of powder on the runs, and we seemed to have the mountain almost entirely to ourselves. I decided the conditions gave me licence to ski as fast as possible, with a dose of reckless abandon. That lasted about 5mins at a time... then I needed a 30min recovery session, abling down the rolling goomers. We sampled a section of Aspen nightlife to ...

Denver to Aspen

Awful sense of deja vu as we headed out to the airport again, but at least the sun was shining so we were hopeful of getting away this time. Still a little late by the time we de-iced & got on our way but well worth the wait - stunning scenery as we flew over the Rockies & landed in Aspen.

Off to Aspen we go...hopefully

... We had to set up the tent. Courtney had borrowed it from a friend who had used it recently...so recently that she hadn't cleaned the tarp. It was fairly gross. But we put it down reminding ourselves that the tent would be on top and therefore we would not have to touch it. The tent went up quickly but we had major problems putting in the stakes. They would just not go in. Finally, we realized why...our site was on asphalt. Even though it looked ...

Snowboarding at Beaver Creek

... a couple of runs on his own. Took 1-1/4 hours to drive to Beaver Creek as roads were icy. Staying at an apartment called Park Plaza right on the slopes and in the heart of the village by the ice skating rink. Went out with Lara and Greg, Mark and Leigh for pizza.
