... Restaurant,a charming victorian style restaurant with affordable pricing, in the historic Delaware Hotel. We finished up the sight seeing at the National Mining Hall of Fame & Museum and met back up with the shuttle at 3:00pm to return to Vail.Overall, it was a pleasant day...but I certainly wouldn't go out of my way to visit Leadville...

We drove scenic route 24 from Vail to Leadville for the day and walked around the old downtown.

Leadville has a 2.5 hour scenic train ride that we decided to take. The train ride included a stop to look at wild flowers. Susan de-trained to look at the flowers and I continued on a couple of miles to the molybdenum mine on Climax ...

... pool and had fun swimming. Late in the day Gabi helped Hannah tend to the goats and Bri read. Tonight we went to a rodeo and had a tailgate party there on a big flat bed trailer with a bunch of Carl & Wendy's friends. Bri & Gabi got into it eventually and were whooping it up and cheering on the riders.

If all goes as planned, we'll get going by 9 and I've got a 12 hour drive as we head towards Seattle.

... his wife Wendy and their daughter Hannah live in a beautiful home with 36 acres, horses, goats, rabbits, cats and a dog. Gabi and Bri had fun with the animals and were able to go on a ride around with Carl as he worked his plow horses before we settled in for the night.

Tomorrow I'm having the car serviced and the girls will sleep in again before another activity-filled day.

TV guys also having trouble getting where they where going, we even had some mutual friends. But how did I (being in NYC, recieving a call to get on a plane, and then going to the airport) end up at the same place in time at the same time as these fellow travelers who I will undoubtedly see in the future?I think it's just plain luck, or it could be that the world is just that small.But who knows...
