... be signing up for a temporary European cell phone. Fingers crossed that staying awake until 8pm tonight will take care of most of my jet lag...only 3 more hours until bedtime!

I'm looking forward to Thursday, and beginning the first of many long weekends, this one with my best friend. Meanwhile, I'll try to break out the black clothes and assimilate myself a little more into Swiss culture!

... due to make up and sanitisers - all of which I also had in my handbag which made it through fine. They weren't helpful either. Roz and Rob went on with the kids for something to eat.

We met at the gate for a 6pm flight and then of course as we were queueing to get on the plane the movement stopped. MMMMMMM. We got on the plane, the kids ( and Matt and I) hadn't eaten, so chewed their way through most of the snacks that ...

... something for Day 3 - the marathon stage. The Col des Saisies as a first climb of 13kms was not at all taxing, followed by a beautiful descent down to the village of Flumet.

Then things got serious with the Cormet de Roselend reaching 1967m over a 20km climb and the finish line in Val d'Isère iat 1840m, again after a climb of about 22km. I stayed ahead of the cut off time by about 15-30 minutes at each aid ...

... the Swiss/French boarder. Lake Geneva forms part of the border between Switzerland and France. I was told to take my passport as Switzerland is not a member of the European Union and you sometimes get stopped at the border by immigration control. It didn't happen this time and by the time we returned from dinner (which was on the French side of the boarder) the guards had given up and gone home. Dinner comprised of salad, 4 types of potato ...
