... I do sit, quietly in a semi-secluded corner – in awe. Gaze up to the ceiling, dome next to half dome next to quarter dome, pattern upon pattern, rings of windows filtering in coloured light from the setting sun.<br><br>Feet are washed outside, shoes are placed in plastic bags and nestled in long racks. There is no noise as worshippers and awe-struck first-timers drift across the red pile carpet.<br><br>There are no icons, no idols, no statues of Buddha, Christ, the ...
Pamukkale, Denizli, Turkey the-rambler... Today many of the travertines have dried up and swimming is now restricted. <br><br>We climbed around the travertines, and it was definitely cool to see them. The surfaces are chalky and soft and they have made fake pools that you are allowed to swim in. There were lots of paragliders around and one landed really close to us. His friend was running up towards him, making a huge scene with arm waving and screaming. He also had one pant leg up and one down and looked a ...

Pamukkale, Denizli, Turkey shukhrathttp://www.bored-space.com/index.php/Tr avel/Extraordinary-Natural-Wonders-of-T urkey.html Pamukkale is one of the extraordinary natural wonders of Turkey. The great attraction is the white immensity of the cliff with sculptured basins full of water and congealed waterfalls; they seem done of snow, cloud, cotton... The scientific ...
Pamukkale, Denizli, Turkey w0312447... before completely leaving this place. When we arrived at the bottom, we realized that we were both quite hungry - hadn't eaten since breakfast! A restaurant right at the bottom was very alluring, and the menu as well as the prices were well suited to us. So there we sat, with a view of the shining, sparking, calcium covered slopes above us, as we ate a delicious meal (and had a beer of course), before resting up for our trip to Efes. Hugs and Love, Dana and Trevor
Pamukkale, Denizli, Turkey mr-mrs_pickles... one around!! Loads and loads of water and it looked just how i imagined it - really blue and pretty. We took of our shoes and went to walk over and take some pics but got stopped by the security man... We wandered back to the other section and clicked away and nearly drained my battery then made the long trek down the hill in our bare feet over the calcium to meet the others at the restaurant where we had dinner last night ...
Pamukkale, Turkey chooklotto... trick like this) and I had the exact amount in Euro to pay. I know it's only 10 lira but a deal is a deal. The woman's face fell when she saw me produce the euro notes. We took another walk around the island, stopping at a park for the girls to burn off a bit of energy before we got going. I sat on a bench and an elderly Turkish man came over and sat next to me. I had no more than 3 words of Turkish and he had maybe a dozen of English, but we had a ...
Pamukkale, Turkey guykb... On these long bus rides, they stop about every 2 hours for a bathroom break and it is usually at some place where you can buy some small things to eat or drink. After leaving Pamakkule we stopped at one of the smallest resting points yet and the driver, knowing that we were the only non locals on the bus, indicated on his watch that we would be here for 15 minutes. OK, we get off the bus and walk around the small village. I had a bit of an upset stomach so we walked into a ...
Pamukkale, Turkey irassman... a town a few kms away and only visit to see the terraces and bath in the mineral pools that formed these. A huge number seem to be Russians or East European. Pamukkale village has managed to avoid most of the most dreadful parts of this (the downside being the villagers don't see most of the $$s spent by these tourists), but it does make it a much more pleasant and interesting place for us to stay! We decided to go for a walk before dinner, which turned out to be a lot ...
Pamukkale, Turkey tandc2007... amazing environment - this is one destination in Turkey that demands a single visit - once you've seen it, no reason to go again. Not so for Bodrum. You can visit is repeatedly and use it as a base for excursions to many attractions in the region. This is a party place - with dozens of bars, clubs, disco's, shops, even a fabulous English Castle!
