Day Cruise: Poros
After we returned on the boat from Hydra, a buffet spread was waiting for us. Not the best time to have stomach aches from the donuts! They had quite the array of food for us! Salad (Greek of course), chicken, fish, meat, green beans, potatoes, rice, pasta, dessert! Ahhh and since it was buffet, it was all you can eat olives! Poros /Epidavarus.
... very famous Epidavros amphitheater, situation high in the hills 25 minutes from Poros. So we caught a little ferry (loos like little toot) across to the other side of the island, and then a taxi to Epidavros. The drive took us through some of the most breathtaking country we had seen to date. Brian and Di didn't come because they had to meet the marina lady at 6 to do the paperwork. Bargain of the day was a local offer of a trip by taxi to Olympia and back. Well it looked a bargain until you work out it is about a 30 minute trip to Olympia and the same back and you need a good two hours to at least have a reasonable look round the site and perhaps another 30 mins to look round the museum. When you saw that the trip left at 200pm and returned by 330pm - what do you think because ...
