Today we were supposed to go to Pondicherry but we decided to stay around the house and chill. Ritu came to spend the afternoon with us. Naz kicked my **** at Pro Evo again but I had my revenge when we play real tennis as I won 6-2 / 6-0 / 6-4. We also enjoyed the swimming pool which was nice!

I also wanted to have an early night because I knew I was not going to get some sleep the next day as we were going out and I had to be at the airport for 5am.
Chennai (Madras), Tamil Nadu, India alexhuchet... if you are craving a beautiful dress that you can't afford, you are not actually craving the dress, you are craving the feeling you think the dress will give you. If you can learn to identify these feelings/sensations and not feed them with craving or aversion then they will wither and die, thus leading you on the path to enlightment (simple really ??!?). This is achieved by the realisation that nothing in permenant. All the sensations/feelings do arise but will eventually pass ...
Chennai (Madras), Tamil Nadu, India jendrix... ours. I am glad pirates did not try to attack us this voyage but it was fun watching out for them anyways. After watching some of sex and the city season 2, Caroline, Katie and I went to deck six for dinner. It was decent but the usual meat, potatoes, and pasta. Katie and I played compute games later on in the night to pass the time and I watched a video on Woodstock on the closed circuit TV's in our room to ...
Chennai (Madras), India claudiv... rice, lemon rice, chapatis, some bean and peanut dish, rajma, bangan bharta. I was a little out of sorts on Deepavali, however, as I sadly heard from Ankit that one of the MDs on my old desk had passed away. Howard was a tough man to deal with as he was incredibly demanding and without peer when it came to work ethic, but he was also a model professional. He was the closest I found on the desk to the work ethic and mantra my Dad espoused during his 20 years working in ...
Chennai and Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu, India chiapoe... You see a lot of bicycles, some carrying impossible loads. These industrial-strength bicycles are made of thick tubes and fairly large tires. Some are three wheeled, and those carry larger loads. Everywhere you can find what are called auto-rickshaws, three-wheeled yellow vehicles that typically run on LP gas. Most of these are taxis, but some are used to haul things around, and it's also common to see these three-wheeled contraptions being used as mini-buses. In older parts of ...
Chennai (Madras), Tamil Nadu, India worthj1970... age of sixteen which freed him from identification with mind permanently. Some of which went like this: Ramana Maharshi had a spontaneous awakening at the age of 16. Gripped by the fear of death, he stretched out like a corpse, stiffened his body, and said to himself, "Well, my body is dead. I see it. It will soon be cremated. But who is it that dies?" His intense inquiry into this question resulted in the realization that ...
Tiruvannamalai, India jagadish... share that this spot is truly a gem and I have so loved the people I have met and the adorable, beautiful 20 children I met at the orphanage here. Very serendipitously, I chatted to a guy at the internet spot and ends up he is here for a month, on his break from a banking job in Switzerland, to support the orphanage his amazing Indian friend (who is blind) started to take in some children orphaned after the tsunami which devastated nearby ...
Mamallapuram, India amerikiwi... markets, pagodas, tried to see some boat races, and ate amazing food. This was definately my favorite country so far and I will be coming back here some time in my life. The people were so warm and friendly that I almost felt like I was more at home there, then at home in Cleveland. I got to use some Spanish at the Jumping Cat monestary as I struk up a conversation with some women from Spain. They commented on my accent ...
Chennai, India mjwallac... bedroom) The next morning we were woken up as usual to tea two hours before we were suppose to leave the house. Then we enjoyed breakfast and an hour and a half of down time before going to the rotary club leaders house for yet another press conference. After the press conference, which the press was three hours late for, our family took us out shopping at some local stores. We went to a jewelry store and another local plaza type store with our family where they looked out for ...
Chennai, India jcarlso2... animals, to see how they would fare here in India. They are crossing Jersey cattle with a native sindi cow, to try to increase milk yield, but still have them be heat tolerant. They also have buffalo that they are working with. This place has 700 acres of land, and spread out on that is stations for cows, rabbits, pigs (the piggery-how funny is that?) sheep, goats, fish and ostriches. The ostriches they have are the only ostriches in India, and they are 4 years now ...
