... for: crazy driving especially by bus and tuk tuk drivers, haggling and being asked to buy stuff at the beach for 20 times a day, wildlife – loads of it everywhere including the hotel – especially insects (centipedes, millipedes, spiders, mantises, flies, mosquitoes, large bugs of all sorts and butterflies) and geckos
We will definitely come back to Sri Lanka as we love this country and we will be more active next ...
... in all the houses they cover it with asbestos which is a bit worrying. Most of the children go to school and all looked really smart so I don't think life in the slums is as bad as people think, plus pretty much every house has a big flat screen tv which took me by surprise! ... age was younger - but he was hilarious! He had a crazy bandanna wrapped roundd his head and his bag slung over his shoulder.. he honestly thought he was the George Clooney of Thidora. When he came in he went to each of the girls there (not volunteers, the thidora people) and stood by them while they showered him with kisses! It was so funny.. He then went round all the boys high fiving them. Quite the celebrity!

I pulled over near a bridge by the coastal lagoons of Bentota for my last break. I was standing there stretching and this weirdo jumped out of the bushes and grabbed my arm. He was pointing at his eyes calling them the moon and the sun and then started pulling ...

It quickly became apparent that this would be a long uncomfortable journey as there were no free seats and we would have to stand with our backpacks at hand standing shoulder to shoulder with what seemed to be half the population of Colombo.
