After two flights full of some "intereting" people, we finally arrived in Bishkek. Fortunately, we did not need to shell out any Marlebo Reds as we moved smoothly through customs. Our first point of contact in Bishkek was our driver from the guesthouse we were staying at. He quickly escorted us to the gues...
Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan broncosWell, sorry for the delay in this specific post (err, if you count a month as a delay). The lack of photos for Kyrgzstan is also my fault as I somehow lost all those I took in Bishkek and beyond. Russell has some and should be posting soon. Anyway, our last stop in Kyrgzstan was the small border town of Nayrn. It was similar to Bishkek, but at a much smaller scale and completely without Russians (at least that we saw). It also lacked an ATM which proved to be one of our more harrowing trip mo...

I've only been flagged down by the police a couple of times, once on a screeching downhill (not impressed). As I approached, I suspected the stopping was either to extort money or to question what the crazy fool on a bike with stuff was doing. Fortunately it was the latter, and after prodding my tyres, seeming rather impressed with them, and having a look at my map he waved me on my way but warned ...

The scenery here was magical. <br> The huge glacial mountains (which we climbed almost to the foot of) fed the bustling streams down to the bright azure blue lake.
