Our first break from school is finished. Although it seemed a little early for a holiday, we were ready for one! We flew to Tokyo last Saturday from Hong Kong, but stayed at the airport, away from the demonstrations. It was interesting to see the contrasts between Japan and our part of China.

... is very high end AND there are 2 more malls being build in the area. We can't figure out who can afford to buy the stuff and how the stores will stay afloat. Maybe they won't. The top floor is pretty much all restaurants - Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Thai, Brazilian, so we will be trying some of those.

to Carrefour (bigger than Walmart) and bought another mattress topper for our
bed. The mattresses are just box springs
and hard as a board so all the new teachers go searching for toppers.
We got one which we put on top of the 2 already there – a bit like the
princess and the pea, but think this might do the trick. – fingers crossed!
