      ... clean and tidy, if a little devoid of people, kind of place. We visited the History of Florida Museum and the Old State Capitol Museum (both free of charge) and found them informative and well worth the visit.       We had a great time relaxing at Fort Pickens. Nita went for a nice long bicycle ride along the coast. She was flying - until it was time to turn around. Suddenly the truth dawned - she was flying because the wind was helping. The return trip was against the wind!

      Seven years ago when we were here, we had put a Walmart location into our GPS to do some shopping. This was at a place called "Pass Christian", when we got to the point that Walmart was supposed to be located all we found was a cement slab Katrina had wiped out the building and most of the coastline including the boardwalk that followed the beach. Houses near the water had been devastated.

      After a grueling five days of driving, it was time to find a nice campground and hang out for a few days. My plan was to stay at the state park on the beach near Destin. But the polar vortex spoiled things, so I found an RV park near Pensacola instead. The temperatures were in the 30's at night, and although it was only in the 50's during the day, at least it was sunny!
