Southampton, England, United Kingdom sophianrachaelThis will be my third trip to Australia, and this time I've decided to take my time and soak up the atmosphere and scenary. I'm going to sit on beaches, wile away afternoons in beachside bars, stroll through forests and explore quiet hillside and seaside towns. And most of it's going to be in a ...
Winchester, Hampshire, United Kingdom ian_c... Guy Fawkes is basically a celebration of the foiled attempt to blow up the houses of Parliament many many years ago. So we spent the night setting off fire works, eating burgers and hotdog, drinking some beer and wine! It wasn't without incident with the he fire works though! I managed to stand in the way of a rocket, but luckily no damage was done!

That's basically all that happened and what we did before we jumped on the train to London and the start of the trip around Europe!
Reading / Derbyshire, England, United Kingdom markandnoma2009... we watched a show every night except one and an English pub called the rising Sun where a pint of Boddingtons cost £2.60. Very reasonable I thought. Anyway for the first time in eleven days we were looking at rain and gloom, but by the time we got to the Railway Station is was brightening up a bit. the trip back to Scarborough and then on to Whitby was uneventful. We were home for 19:00.
Southampton, England, United Kingdom mickinwhitby... They have these cycle paths.. I did only about 5% of them so there is heaps more to discover when I go back. I also managed to do some jogging ... whew my poor old knees didn't like it all... but the scenery was so lovely. The leaves were all turning, animals were wondering around it didn't feel you were in a country of 60 million people at all.

One day I had a ride for about 3-4 hours, ended up in a small place called Fritham... I had some ...
Ringwood, England, United Kingdom sares12Visited this town while I was visiting my Uncle in Portsmouth. Its a lovely little place, well not little but seems about the size of Newcastle. Not that I have seen its outskirts etc.

When I arrived I went to have a look at the old wall and the old castles etc set up by Henry the VI I think. But it started to pour down so I went ...
Southampton, England, United Kingdom sares12... long stretches of connecting buildings, perfectly symmetrical with impressive flat stone facades. The backs of the buildings are very ugly and random as there was no standard style or building code for anything but the facade. All of the buildings in Bath were - and still must be - by ordnance constructed of Bath stone. The city is unique because everything is matching, but it could get boring after a while.
Bath, United Kingdom ajamesnavratilSonya and I embraced then spent the next few hours chattering away about our lives. She is one who really gets me so I don't need to explain so much. The stuff that I typically need to give people background on, she just understands. Sonya and I are not the same but we sure are alike. The best way for me to describe it is that she loves dogs and I love cats but we both just love animals. The man at the service station just looked at us like we were from another ...
Andover, United Kingdom whereshegoes... a nice break to just be able to relax and let go. I loved being able to wake up to a quiet house, make a cuppa and take the dog for a walk. Toby, their new puppy is a bundle of happy energy and there is something very theraputic about spending time with animals. The sun was still low in the morning sky and the air was crisp yet warm. I was amazed at how comforting this past week has been. It's like living a postcard from home moment. I got a packet from home including ...
