So, we're finally here on Padre Island, one of my two highlights for Texas, the other, Big Bend National Park, is next. Padre is the world's longest barrier island, a narrow stretch of beach, sand dunes, salt water marsh and scrubland going about 115 miles from Port Aransas to Brownsville.
