      Brisbane here we come

Although the departure was a little late it still arrived ahead of schedule - how do they do that then? Flight was uneventful and smooth. Watched a film and dosed. Adam met us at the airport at about 6:30, he came on his own because it was too early for Oliver! We went to the South Bank for a bit of breakfast. We looked at the debris of the storm cell that ...

... too far from home! At $11 a pint it was a shock to the system and put us off slightly but we were relieved when we found out that this was the most expensive city in Australia and the east coast won't be as bad!
Next stop the East Coast where we have sorted out all the trips we wanted to do. In Cairns we are going into the Daintree rainforest and out to the Great Barrier Reef so stay tuned!
      Much love,

Wheels up 10:53am, landed on time at 6:15am local. Can't quite cotton on to QANTAS service. When the dinner service got to us, two of the three choices had run out so it was pasta, or pasta. The attendant tried to console us with the promise that we would be served first at breakfast and could be assured of getting our choice. Whoopee, cereal or eggs, some ...

      Off to Rottnest Island

... photos of wonderful views. It took an hour to drive around the island. Rottnest is a popular tourist spot for swimming, snorkelling, fishing, bicycling and just relaxing. Only the adventurist ones were snorkelling as it was a little too cold. In summer it would be a wonderful place to swim and see all the fish. Caught the ferry back and arrived at camp by 6.30. No one was hungry or felt like cooking so it was "fend for yourselves" night. Was in bed by ...
