... too far from home! At $11 a pint it was a shock to the system and put us off slightly but we were relieved when we found out that this was the most expensive city in Australia and the east coast won't be as bad!
Next stop the East Coast where we have sorted out all the trips we wanted to do. In Cairns we are going into the Daintree rainforest and out to the Great Barrier Reef so stay tuned!

There are three bike routes around the island, 4km, 10km and 22km. With our return ferry not until 5pm we picked the longest and took the road that snakes around the islands coast. The reef can easily be seen through the crystal waters and our stopping and staring slowed progress. An airforce jet flew overhead but was the only other human life we saw for the first hour or so.
Wheels up 10:53am, landed on time at 6:15am local. Can't quite cotton on to QANTAS service. When the dinner service got to us, two of the three choices had run out so it was pasta, or pasta. ... photos of wonderful views. It took an hour to drive around the island. Rottnest is a popular tourist spot for swimming, snorkelling, fishing, bicycling and just relaxing. Only the adventurist ones were snorkelling as it was a little too cold. In summer it would be a wonderful place to swim and see all the fish. Caught the ferry back and arrived at camp by 6.30. No one was hungry or felt like cooking so it was "fend for yourselves" night. Was in bed by ...
