    ... be a decent portion on a highway, but I felt I had the scooter thing down and regardless, I could just drive on the side of the road. Before I left it started sprinkling.     It took about a half hour to get back to the harbor. The speedboat zoomed through the waves at full speed. There are few things more soothing than the ocean spray on my face.

    When we got back to the Dive Shop, he filled in my Dive book and offered to take me for a beer. I declined, as I was leaving in an hour for another part of the island and I walked quickly back to my hotel.

    ... at all! Tuesday we were in Mauritius which has been independent of Britain since 1968...and it shows. Although very similar in geology, the infrastructure is nowhere near as good. English is the official language, but most of the billboards are in French and the people speak Creole. Our guide in Reunion spoke far better English than the one in Mauritius.     ... beach. We waited an hour for a bus back to our village which was very fast and cheap! Back to the quiet beach for one hour before it started raining again!

    7/8/11 Main beach for the day and not much else! Max swam in sea which was very cold.

    ... league over here despite majority people speak French. Football is indeed the universal language - we kept talking about it from Premier League to the World Cup.
    Tourists coming this island are mainly French, German and Italian apparently followed by Brits, Spanish and many others.
    There is only one motor way on the island and young Jeff kept taking over loads of vehicles despite he was driving a mini bus, without worrying about the speed ...
