... until 88 minutes, but somehow the Dutch turned the tables and went on to win it. The streets were going berserk and people started letting off flares. Orange smoke filled the air with people singing ‘fever Oranje’ to people honking their horns. I spent 3 nights in Amsterdam (all of them quite heavy) before heading to Berlin for a night so I could get a flight to Norway the next day.

... be a transitional thing going on - lots of new buildings interspersed amongst the old. Centuries old churches beside new office blocks, old cobbled streets criss-crossed with tramlines, Macdonalds and Starbucks co-existing with traditional patisseries, cafes, and restaurants. And bicycles. Thousands of bikes weaving there way in and out of buses and trams.

From there, filled with joy, we made our way back home. We stopped in Aalst, for the best McDonald's ever, and not just because it was after a beer session. The 1955 burgers, wow! ... for the cross channel trains from London to Paris, and has a lot of war history from both world wars. Alana has been living here with a young French family as an au pair, teaching their girls to teach English. ... Bruno brought their sweet little boy James, who certainly stole the show.

On Tuesday I went to Kortrijk for a night to spend time with my Uncle Cedric and my Tante Kik.
Cedric still lives in the Apartment at 2 Reepkai and my Aunt lives a 10-15 minute bike ride down the Lys in a converted farm house.
I had a nice dinner with Cedric and then was pickup up by Tante Kik for an evening Tea and chat.
