... safely in Australia. Greeted with beautiful sunshine and the freshness of a Spring morning. What a difference and certainly a welcomed changed. Beaming smiles on our faces and reenergised for this next chapter. The plan is to spend 3 days here in Brisbane, seeing the Australia Zoo whilst also soaking up the sights and sounds of the city, before heading up to Cairns. Up in Cairns we hope to snorkel the Great Barrier Reef amongst other exciting bucket list things ...

... so the excitement started right from the start :) (being sarcastic, we are not big fans of bikes but it is the only way to navigate the crowded streets not to get stuck in the traffic) When i arrived my wife was already playing with a baby python and i got an amelanistic baby ahaetulla prasina that was absolutely stunning. i was hoping to see this species during the entire trip but this was the first time i saw it live. :)

After a slightly later start than planned, we went to the gym – yes your eyes are not deceiving you! Neil knocked out a quick 3.5km on the treadmill and Nay a cheeky 3km on the cross trainer, followed by some weights, to build up an appetite for brekkie.

Breakfast was included with our room and as much as we’ve been enjoying Indonesian dishes for breakfast, we were both relishing the prospect of a big buffet with lots of options to choose ...
