Just a quick note that our bus journey was suprisingly very smooth. The bus dropped us at the uruguayan customs and waited for us saving us the expected 2km walk with all our bags. Then the reservation for the onward bus worked perfectly. Our tickets were in the little box under our name as the lady has assured us over the phone! So all in all very relieved to be here in porto alegre ready for our flight ...

So my first date with Brazil wasn't a home run, but there were enough things about it I liked that I would definitely ask for a second date!

To summarize:
- I was never able to take any money out from the ATMs while in Brazil so that was my first challenge (of course I did get Reals before I left but they were forgotten on the table at home)
- Things were very hectic prior to my departure so a giant backlog of work was hanging over ...
