      ... He set out to become the first person to cross the English Channel in a hot air balloon. He made it! Unfortunately, while he was going across the Channel, he was sinking toward the water so began throwing all of his equipment overboard to make the balloon lighter so it would gain altitude. That helped, but not enough, so he stripped off his clothes and threw them overboard. It worked! Upon landing, he was a very embarrassed hero. OO-LA-LA as our guide ...

      Morning breakfast at the hotel, quite a good spread of breakfast, my favorite croissants always my choice.. Roaming around ancient city of  Rouen, beautiful Gothic Cathedral, one of the highlights of Rouen. taking some pictures with iphone and Samsung mobile seemed not so satisfying. will use more sophisticated camera next visit...(promise myself) Visited ...

      ... rows of gravestones it really put into perspective the sheer volume of lives that were lost in this part of France during World War II. The image that has stuck with me the most is the crosses that are placed throughout the cemetery for those soldiers who lost their lives but never had their remains recovered. Each of these headstones reads “Here Rests In Honored Glory A Comrade In Arms Known But To God”.
