Woke up early and had a cafe and apfel streusel and drove to Hohwnschwangan to visit Schloss Neuschwanstein. The longer we drove, the larger and more breathtaking the mountains became. Just outside of Hohwnschwangan we stopped at a pull off in the shade for lunch. The closer to the palace we saw many people paragliding around the mountains. Parked and walked up Aplseesraße (a road) to get on the bus to take us up near base of the ...

... grate a bit, but my has been magnificent, thank you Brett and Susie for my 49 th birthday present. Our only equipment problem was one flat tyre. Our panniers have been great too, and carried everything we needed. John's packing is a little chaotic, but I'm not wearing his clothes, so it doesn't really matter. ... I was prepared to buy. I just hope that the shops still have some things left when we get to Corsica and London. There was Zara, H and M, all the French brands, as well as Quksilver, Nike etc. John had a beer in a cafe in the town plaza, while I contented myself with a look. I did manage to find an exquisite patisserie, where I consoled myself with two of the best pastries I've had since we arrived. Tomorrow we will ride the 38 kms into Basel, and our final destination for our cycling ...

... is a tiny tourist office and it gave us walks and cycle info so tomorrow we will explore further. A small bakers and a mini market are still running and appear to be doing just enough business. Day 2. Cycling the Ballon's circuit. The Ballon's. Took us a while to work this one out but it appears that as you move through this area you come across giant ball shaped rocks. They are huge in parts and clearly immovable objects so houses get built round them or they just ...

... who made the route, put in some climbs just to challenge us. Don't get me wrong they have done an amazing job, the signs are usually very well placed on turns etc, and usually easy to see. Sometimes we think their last 5 kms into our destinations feel like 10, but that might be just because we're tired. After having a hot shower and doing the mandatory washing we headed off to explore MONTBELIARD. Once again the centre of town is a mall, and the only vehicles allowed down ...
