... yogurt, bread, jam, coffee and eggs - we didn't have all of it. We made our way to Agios Fortia which is a pretty beach with some remote private coves if you can be bothered with the trek. We were bothered, which included wading in the sea neck deep in water holding the bags high above our heads, but at least we were alone and largely undisturbed apart from the odd nosey bugger who obviously thought "where the hell are they going" and so swam out to see (sea). ...

We were welcomed to our Olympos accommodation as members of the family and almost begged to return next year: "we build this place for people like you, not. Just any people, special people". Not as charming as Santorini, parts of it a bit like a non graffitied, tidier version of Athens - not bad but not really amazing either. Their economy is very strong and they could survive independently from the rest of Greece. First stop was the Palace of Knossos. Interesting. Our tour guide Lena was good. She glossed over a lot of the dates and figures and just ...

... there is on the complex of 36, so we will be spoilt once more - and the coins will have a more critical impact. We are venturing to Spinalonga tomorrow, we can see the island former leper colony from the apartment and spent breakfast watching the boats heading over, so as impatient as we are we're off there tomorrow. It was either that or the Samarias Gorge but Keith is worried we might break our legs and so it's better to do that in week three rather than week ...
