    ... and took us to Little Rock. (It was also his birthday!) In Little Rock we stopped to see Little Rock High School and the small but fantastic museum there explaining the events leading up to 1957 and the aftermath. It was really difficult to imagine a standoff between Faubus and Eisenhower playing out on the streets in front of the school. This standoff involved something like 1400 troops so it was a tremendously serious thing and Faubus had really brought the state the to the brink ...

    ... just another mall and somehow the enthusiasm was waning - Stevie could hardly believe his luck....his shopaholic wife let loose in a department store with the credit card and she's bored within 15 minutes!! The mall was nice, it looked good, it had all the designer names and price tags to go with them but it was all just a bit, well....ordinary.

    ... we didn't have hassle with the traffic or parking. The show was very good, but could have been a little shorter. I think we both lost interest in the last half hour or so. Had LOTS of old timers and when I say old, I really mean old! Jean Sheppard had to be at least 90 and could barely walk out on the stage, looked like she has had a few strokes, but to our surprise she can still sing beautifully!
